What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to supply an accurate quote, there are a number of factors we would need to know, date, timings (for performance and set-up and pack down). Ideally, we would also need to know party numbers for providing adequate equipment to suit your party size. Finally, the venue location as we would need to allow times for travelling.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ideally, you would ask if they have PLI and PAT certificates as more and more venues are asking that 3rd party suppliers have these and it can be frustrating to have your DJ booked only to find he can not work there as he has not got the right documents.
Asking for reviews is also a good idea and what they offer, do they specialise in particular genres of music. Finally, ask what they have in place should they have problems getting there or a last-minute emergency.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I started as a DJ over 30 years ago and have always loved music and getting a response from an audience by getting them on the dance floor. I love doing this as much today as I did then and always come away with a buzz when I know that a crowd have had a great night. Being a lover of most music I am always happy playing the music that suits the crowd and not just what I like.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have had quite a few bookings through Add to Event and I have had great fun providing the music for them all. One outstanding one was a birthday that was booked in a hall in the summer. The weather had been very warm and the client asked if we could set up outside instead, this was not a problem as there was hard standing and also electricity from not too far away.
I can honestly say it was great having 100+ people dancing and singing along outside and as the light faded the light show and effects looked great. As we packed down the client was 100% happy and grateful that we had the versatility to set up inside or out.
