The Little Taquero
The Little Taquero provides Mexican and Central American cuisine from their modern, renovated street food van throughout Bristol and the South West. Beginning life as a prisoner transport vehicle in France, their 1978 Renault Estafette has been reborn as a quirky, Mexican-inspired vehicle which is part mobile kitchen and part mobile talking point! Gluten free as standard, The Little Taquero's made-from-scratch food has won multiple awards and is available in vegetarian and vegan varieties as well.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide the best possible quote, we need to know the date and time of the event, where the event is taking place, what sort of event it is (private party or festival for example) and how many people we would be expecting to serve. This will allow us to offer prices, menu options and advice on timings and set up.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It's important to ask what options are available on the menu and if they offer a vegetarian / vegan option or food suitable for anyone with an intolerance. It's also imperative to check serving times as some food will be made fresh and may take a little longer so that may be a factor in your decision making.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Chris has travelled the Mexico and Central American region extensively, falling in love with the fresh flavours of the local food. He lived and cooked with the locals and learnt authentic recipes which he couldn't wait to share with people back home. Upon returning to the UK, he started up The Little Taquero so that everyone could be transported to Mexico and Central America through his delicious tacos.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We were booked by a lovely young woman who was organising her 21st birthday. Upon discovering The Little Taquero through Add to Event, she decided to make her party Mexican themed! We parked up on her parent's driveway and served all her friends and family fresh tacos. Many of the people had never tried authentic Mexican tacos before and so the feedback was amazing. We even got a round of applause after we had packed up and gone, just to say farewell! It was an absolute joy to be a part of the family's celebrations.
