What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For initial contact with potential clients we ideally require an event date, the service required, the estimated number of guests and the intended venue (general area at the very least). Additional information is always beneficial as we are then able to offer a more realistic quote based on the service being the bar, BBQ, Paella, DJ/ Karaoke or any combination of the services we offer. We also like to know if it's an indoor or outdoor event, public or private and a brief explanation of the event they are hosting whether it be a wedding, birthday party etc.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Always ask yourself if the supplier you're looking at is offering the right service. We are a mobile bar business offering a full bar including real ales, draught lager, spirits and soft drinks yet people still ask if we are a coffee bar. We have similar questions about our other services too. As much as we would like to do hog roast bookings please remember that hog roast doesn't mean BBQ.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Tobias Jacks Mobile Bars is the partnership of three friends who jointly have over six decades of experience in the food and beverage service and preparation industry. The three partners and the rest of the team are all dedicated to high level customer service and satisfaction. While customer care is firmly fixed in the forefront of our minds we do like to have fun too which does come across at our events showing us to be a professional, friendly and an approachable team.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

The very first event we catered for from Add to Event was a wedding party. I guess we have picked this one as it was the first, we didn't know initially how Add to Event would work for us and how good the communication would be. We were impressed by how easy it was from our point of view and so were our customers. The day went off with a swing once we were set up, I do remember there being a horrendous storm as we brought the bar into the venue. The comments and reviews we got back from the bride, groom, their families and friends were amazing. A great time was had by all!
