What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to provide a comprehensive quote we need to know the event date, how many hours of performance you require, the type of event you are hosting, details of the venue and whether it is upstairs or ground floor. If you accept our quote we'll come out to meet you for a face-to-face consultation to finalise the rest of your booking details and take your deposit to confirm your booking.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would advise that you select a professional who has PAT tested equipment and who is public liability insured. Check they are members of a professional organisation such as the National Association of Disc Jockeys. Also check that they will work for you directly and not farm out the job to a cheaper DJ whilst taking a cut for themselves. And finally, if the price seems to good to be true - it probably is!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I have DJ'd on and off since my teens and decided to turn it into a career in 2010 after my previous job in technology ended in redundancy. I had been doing charity gigs for the past few years so I had all the equipment and was ready to launch my business full time. I love entertaining people and seeing them smile and this business is so rewarding in that respect.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I'm new to Add to Event so have taken a lot of enquiries and bookings recently and will be doing my first resultant gig very soon. I would highly recommend Add to Event to others as you get a clear enquiry, accurate details and are able to contact the customer directly so enabling you to strike up a relationship with the customer quickly. It is a simple and efficient system. And you don't have to use an agent to get gigs which is good as we like to deal with our clients on a one-to-one basis.
