What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, type of event being hosted, estimated number of guests, the age range of guests, start/finish times, whether it's an indoor/outdoor event, ground floor or not (if not which floor). From this information, we can use our experience and expertise to put together a suitable equipment list and tailor a quote to your needs.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly, ask the provider what experience they have in the field of DJ work and which kind of events have they performed at. Ask to see pictures of their set up. Ask the provider if they have public liability insurance and PAT test certificates, don't be afraid to ask to see them before you book the DJ. If no insurance in place, move along and find someone that has. Like anything else, if you buy cheap you will often regret it and lower-priced DJs often don't have the experience, decent equipment or insurance.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

SBDJs was born out of a love for all things DJ'ing, a passion which started in the mid-nineties and has never wavered. SBDJs number one priority is to provide an excellent service for clients and help create great memories from the events we entertain at.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have only recently started using Add To Event as a supplier. The first function we did via this platform was a 21st birthday party in October 2019 at The Three Greyhounds pub in Allostock. They have a small but really fab function room which was just the right size for the number of invited guests. The party went really well and there wasn't a single music request we couldn't accommodate. We used our music skillset to keep the dance floor busy and end on a high. There were lots of smiles and compliments paid to us on the night and the client left glowing feedback. We are really pleased that our first function booked via Add to Event was so well received. While it is early days on this website, securing bookings is a bit of a lottery however we are happy with the conversion rate so far. I will definitely be recommending Add to Event to others.
