What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To get a quote suited to your needs we need to know the venue, where it is so we can look into their function rooms, this allows us to choose a rig which is suitable to that room. An important factor is the type of event that is being hosted. A wedding will be completely different from a birthday and this allows us to interact better with a customer to meet their needs. We also look for the number of guests whether it is a big or small amount we can then choose what sound system best suits that room. With this information we can give a quote which will we believe offers good all-round value.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly you need to ask them if they have a PLI Insurance certificate. This insurance allows in the event of an accident a claim can be made. Secondly, they should hold PAT certificates, meaning their equipment is safe and in good working order, most venues require proof and will turn the DJ away should they not be able to provide this information, certainly not what you want on the day of your event be left with no DJ. I would always look at their set up? Are they cheap for a reason, is their equipment budget or looks messy? Ask to see their setups and make a call on if the quote they provide reflects their set up at your party.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I have been a DJ since I was 14, starting at Hospital Radio from there I have gone to college and university. When I graduated I had already been DJing at my student uni and so for the last 16 years now, I have worked in bars and clubs playing so many genres of music. In 2012 I brought a mobile rig and joined my friend supplying DJs to some of the biggest shop brands in the UK and toured for H&M, River Island, Bank, New Look to name just a few supplying music and a fully mobile set in their shops. I was asked countless times by friends could I DJ for their party. I went and invested in a lot of brand new equipment and branched out in adding mobile disco to what I do. I have a passion for music and enjoy the huge range of music requested and with the feedback on Facebook all 5 stars I knew I could make someone's party even their wedding and so I joined Add to Event to broaden my customer base. I also do Karaoke after being asked a lot by customers if this is something I can offer. Why not? I'm here to give you the best night I can.

I joined this platform to broaden my customer base and it sure does work. I have had bookings already only a week after joining. I like the fact there is a lot of detail which gives me the best information to form a quote suitable for events and budgets. I have lots of customers to choose from when it comes to the area that I supply too and the type of event. My two bookings so far haven't happened yet so I cannot say how they went but I know after the chats with them it is going to be very successful and look forward to my reviews for new customers to read.
