What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To provide an accurate quotation need to know the event date, the number of guests and the type of event they are planning. It would also be helpful to have information about the venue - indoor or outdoor, type of room or marquee and the access to the venue. Once we have this information we can tailor a suitable system for the event, ensuring the best results. We have a large number of AV equipment available, from small-scale private party DJ equipment to full concert systems.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure that the provider has the relevant experience to undertake event you are planning - speak to them about what equipment they have specified. Is it up to the job? Is it of high quality and in good condition? Are the technical crew experienced and knowledgeable? Also, check if they have adequate public liability and product liability insurance and that all equipment is regularly PAT tested.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Bandshop Sound and Light can trace its roots to the early 1990s, when our hire business was borne from the sales division of Audio Leisure, a major pro-audio equipment supplier at the time. In recent years, the hire operation became part of Bandshop, which was a leading online music accessory and equipment supplier. We have now come full circle and Bandshop Sound & Light's main sphere of business is in the event production sector. Coupling superb customer service with best in class professional equipment has ensured our business will continue to go from strength to strength!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
