What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

It's incredibly helpful when organisers tell us which of our products they would like us to offer, from the wide range of options; hot drinks, cold drinks and/or smoothies. Numbers are useful but are often a maximum so the range is useful, as would total from previous years if possible. It's also difficult when the client is paying as we need to know how we'll account for the drinks we serve.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly, please give us as much information as possible, even if it sounds irrelevant, it can be useful to get things right. The more we know, the better we can prepare. Ask providers about insurance, all reputable providers will have public liability insurance and membership of an organisation such as NCASS. This will help you build a picture of the investment in quality from a potential provider. References are also a good idea, anyone who is serious will happily provide references.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I started Really Awesome Coffee as I'd worked in the digital industry, sat at a desk, for nearly 20 years and wanted to do something completely different, that challenged me but got me away from my desk. I also wanted to be out meeting new people and I've enjoyed the banter, chats and advice I offer, over and above great coffee! Getting good feedback on my barista skills is a real plus.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I was contacted by a sports club back in November who had been let down by another supplier. It appeared to be a small club with 1 or 2 games a day, however, it is one of the most profitable events we do, we meet a great new crowd and it's opened doors to other events and new stops for our round. We now serve other clubs and our network has grown. What you get from Add to Event is about what you put in; we contact every enquiry, however small, we follow them and ask for feedback if we're not successful. We'd definitely recommend it.
